Luxury ‘Fractional’ Megayacht Sails Into South Florida

For Release Upon Receipt

August 1, 2006: Miami, FL—The 116’ Margaux, a multimillion-dollar luxury megayacht that is being sold on a ‘fractional’ basis, has arrived in South Florida. Available for viewing on an appointment-only basis, the Margaux is being docked at the Bal Harbour Yacht Club, 200 Bal Bay Drive, Bal Harbour, FL 33154.

Managed by Ft. Lauderdale-based Monocle Yacht Management, the worldwide leader in fractional yacht industry, The Margaux features 3 staterooms with ensuite heads, formal dining room, a crew of 4 along with other amenities. The yacht, which is one of 14 in the Monocle fractional ‘fleet’ is fully crewed with a licensed captain and a professional engineer, chef and services staff.

The price to own a ’piece’ of this luxury megayacht ranges from $400,000 for a one-tenth share (4 weeks a year) to $1 million for a quarter share (10 weeks per year). Prices do not include the owner’s contribution to the yearly operating budget.

“In the last decade, the concept of shared or fractional ownership has become a multi-billion dollar industry fueled by the purchases of luxury real estate, residence and country clubs, private jets, exotic cars and more, “said Ray G. Knight, CEO of RaynMaker, Inc., www.RaynMaker.net, the exclusive sales and marketing company for Monocle’s fractional sales in Miami, Latin America, the Caribbean and certain European countries.

“The growing wave in baby boomer and senior leisure purchases is the fractional ownership of yachts and megayachts that offer owners the ultimate in pampered vacations in the world’s most appealing and exotic locations. Combine those enticing factors with the availability of professional firms that take all the hassle out of ownership and the practicality of being able to own and pay for only the amount of time the purchaser uses and you have a very appealing product.”

Monocle began offering a fleet of luxury yachts five years ago that now includes yachts 100 feet in length and larger. Each of the yachts has three or more staterooms. Prices range from approximately $250,000 for a one-tenth ownership (4 weeks per year) to $7.9 million for a quarter share (10 weeks per year), coupled with the owner’s portion of yearly maintenance fees.
